Male Places
2007
“Male Places” is a collection of drawings for the senior thesis show I exhibited in The Herb Lubalin Study Center, on the second floor of the Foundation Building of The Cooper Union School of Art in May of 2007.
The collection is made up of “love notes”—hand-drawn diagrams that charted the shapes of human relationships—and “maps,” geographical "portraits" of male humans who had had profound influence on me throughout life. Included in the exhibition are also screens from Satoshi Kon's anime film Millenium Actress, Stendhal’s book On Love, and other personal effects and ephemera relevant to the drawings’ subjects.
